icicle icicle..
where are you going?

where are you going?

have some photos of golden jewels to share
hoping you all are having a great beginning of the wonderfully fresh year!

i’m busy working on the web store so hopefully will be up and running soon!
and very happy days in the workshop!
The idea of the roses started one very cold october’s day at my parents house
In the bare garden, in the freezing soil, standing tall was a beautiful pinkish rose
A light frost bite tinted it’s petals but it was still so beautiful
And i thought, how wonderfully strong this flower is!
I’m sure this rose would love to grow somewhere warmer, somewhere under a clear blue sky and a beaming sun
But she is still growing, quite happily, in my mom’s garden! such a beauty
So the point is, the rose collection consists of a little, but oh so strong! rose that just happens to grow
- between your fingers! in the curls of your hair or… somewhere else where you’d like to find it
so here we are,

i have made a variation on a ring i made three years ago
the original is on the “home” page, and was inspired by the björk song “hunter”
the new one is slightly smaller than the original
and oh! i like it
the stone is just such a treasure and i think the shank really enhances the wonder of the stone – keeping it’s arm around the golden icicles..

rainy days and work’s getting easier..
i made some men’s rings!

i like the play of shapes in this one
and it’s really nice and solid!

this ring makes me think of porcupine quills
i made it in girl size too! here with a very dark coloured citrine – mmm..

wanna show you some more of my pieces from this year

foldformed and oxidized
i really like this technique
the earrings are very light but yet a nice and solid feel

brass, silver and oxidized copper
same technique as before, so elegant and ethnic

these rings i made in silver, set with peridot and tourmaline cabouchons
they can be worn together, which make them look real nice a little like pebbles, or separate
oh and about pebbles
i have made a few pieces with beach pebbles this year
these ones are from big bay beach, outside cape town

these rings were one of my first pieces last year, i think they are sweet
like little creatures
these little rings were cast in silver and then set with a nut from namibia called makalani
it’s a beautiful material, also called vegetable ivory
another little cast ring, wood inlay and brass wire wrapped around
and here the grand finale piece,
or at least i really like it, i like looking at it
actually it doesn’t look as nice on photo but..
my yoga ring
maybe more zen but i have had so much love for my yoga this year that i wanted to give it this ring
